Its Global Pay It Forward day next Tuesday (28th April), and seeing as Chester is running its very own Pay It Forward campaign to support local businesses, I thought it would give us an opportunity to redefine the Chester Staycation with some great deals on vouchers – so we can all enjoy the city again when its safe to do so.
Today I’m going to look at the best bedrooms in Chester. You may live (and love) close by, but wouldn’t it be a real treat to stay somewhere unique and unexpected – to enjoy 24 or 48 hours rediscovering your city and supporting really good quality – local businesses at the same time?
It may be a while off yet, but there’s no harm in getting ready to treat yourself – or someone special – with a Pay It Forward Chester voucher when this is all done.
So lets all dream together …
The Pied Bull
I have always loved the Pied Bull for a few reasons. Firstly, its one of the oldest inns in Chester (it dates back to 1155) and secondly, it would definitely win the Best Christmas decorations in Chester award if there was such a thing.
I got to know Dave and his team a little better recently when they started advertising with We Love Good Times late last year, and when I was given the full tour of the entire building, I was completely bowled over by their stunning bedrooms.
As lovely and oldy worldy as The Pied Bull is, I did not expect the stunningly beautiful bedrooms that I discovered that day, with their gorgeous features including sleigh beds and slipper baths. These rooms are beyond luxurious and provide a super-comfortable and totally unique place to stay right in the heart of the city.
You can buy Pay It Forward Vouchers for The Pied Bull in denominations of £5 (with a minimum purchase of £10). They are also offering a 10% discount when you visit and redeem your voucher. To purchase a voucher email email@example.com.
The Coach House
I have a long standing relationship with this super team and they hold a very soft spot in my heart. I love anything unique, and The Coach House is most certainly that. Located right in the very heart of the city and right next to the Town Hall, this is a special place to stay with a very warm welcome from a team of staff who truly understand what hospitality means.
Whenever I have stayed at The Coach House, it has always felt like my sanctuary – somewhere safe, comfortable and charming with lovely spacious individually designed bedrooms and one of the best breakfasts in town. For me, this is the perfect city-centre ‘Staycation’ boutique hotel.
Please support them by buying a Pay It Forward Chester voucher with an extra 50% of the value for free – starting at £20.
Buy now, support the industry and look forward to enjoying a delicious meal or night away with friends and family when the lockdown is finally over – and to help support the NHS as they are donating £1 for every voucher sold.
Rowton Hall Hotel & Spa
Rowton Hall has been described as Chester’s hidden gem. This is one of my favourite hotels – and with a fabulous reputation.
A weekend at Rowton really does have it all. Rosette quality dining (they produce so much of their own herbs, fruit and vegetables in their gorgeous grounds), fabulous service and bedrooms fit for a princess. And with their fabulous Spa, this really will be a well-deserved treat when all this is done. And I will be first in the queue for a four-poster bed and a massage with my special someone!
You can enjoy 20% off all vouchers purchased for Rowton Hall Hotel & Spa until the end of April 2020, so be quick.
Ahhh, those riverside bedrooms really are a beautiful thing. When JW Lees upgraded the already adored Boathouse Chester, they didn’t cut any corners. Seventeen brand new bedrooms were designed and built by local experts Lister Carter, and the results were stunning.
Lucky enough to have stayed in one of these gorgeous bedrooms a couple of times, there is something very special about waking up tto hat view of the River Dee, and again the breakfast is pretty damn good too.
You can now purchase £50 worth of Pay It Forward vouchers for £40 – so please support The Boathouse through this very challenging period.
