The Chester Fields has always been one of our favourite venues.
This stunning pub restaurant and bar sits just 4 miles outside of Chester city centre and when you arrive, the views of the Cheshire plains are breathtaking. You really feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere – it’s truly a countryside paradise …
They have a large landscaped garden with unique, alpine inspired heated ski huts so you can enjoy the picture-perfect views whatever the weather. There is plenty of space so if you feel more comfortable outside than inside at the moment, then this is the place for you.
Proudly supporting local producers
The Chester Fields is well known for their use of local produce. Many places boast about supporting local suppliers, but these guys take it very seriously indeed, so much so that they have won awards five years on the run at The Taste Cheshire Food & Drink Awards with the last four being gold. They change their menus seasonally, and base all of their dishes on what they can source as locally as possible.
Food & Drink that does not disappoint
The food here is superb. On the menu you will find plenty of traditional pub classics such as gammon with fried hen’s egg & chunky chips – and of course their amazing steaks and grills. But Chef Helder also loves his specials, so no matter when you visit you’ll be sure to find something new and exciting to tickle those taste buds.
The children’s menu here is a big hit with the kids too, they can build their own dishes to suit any fussy appetite.
They love their drinks just as much as they love their food, and behind the bar you’ll find a great selection of wine, locally brewed ales and gins galore. The coffee here is seriously good too, and they open at 11am to serve a great selection of hot drinks from celebrated Chester city centre coffee house Jaunty Goat.
Occasions are very special here too
Pre-Covid, the team threw some great events, and one of their best is the epic annual bonfire & firework display. We’re sure they will be back on their event game soon with their amazing tribute nights, hog roast parties (the swine dining menu is insanely good), and plenty of your birthday celebrations.
The Chester Fields is also the perfect venue for the best country weddings. They know it’s a huge privilege to be a chosen venue for such a special day, so whether you’re looking for an intimate occasion or a more grand affair (when allowed of course) – they will create bespoke packages just for you. Everything is tailored just for you, so don’t expect any package deals here.
They have some very special neighbours too – Rack & Ruin Alpacas live onsite and you can walk and feed these cheeky chaps before or after enjoying some great food or a little tipple in the pub itself. This is very much a family friendly destination.
All in all this country pub, restaurant and wedding venue is the perfect stop for a great lunch, afternoon snack or full on dining experience inside or out – and your four legged friends are also more than welcome.
Its no wonder we love The Chester Fields so much.
