The Chester Fields have always been one of our favourites for so many reasons.
You wouldn’t believe this super venue sits just 4 miles outside of Chester city centre. The views of the Cheshire Plains are just incredible, and you really feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere, it’s truly countryside paradise!
They have a stunning large landscaped garden with unique, alpine inspired heated ski huts so you can enjoy the picture-perfect views whatever the weather.
Proudly supporting their locals!
They’re renowned at The Chester Fields for many reasons, but one of the main one being their consistent use of local produce. Many places boast about supporting local suppliers, but The Chester Fields take it very seriously indeed. So much so that they’ve won awards five years on the at The Taste Cheshire Food & Drink Awards, the last four being gold. They change their menus seasonally, and base all of their dishes on what they can source as locally as possible.
Food & Drink that Does not disappoint!
The food here is superb, on the menu you will find plenty of traditional pub classics such as Gammon, fried hen’s egg, & chunky chips – and of course their superb steaks. But Chef Helder also loves his specials, so no matter when you visit, you’ll be sure to find something new and exciting to tickle your taste buds!
The children’s menu here is a big hit with the kids too, they can build their own dishes to suit any fussy appetite.
They love their drinks just as much as they love their food, and behind the bar you’ll find a great selection of wine, locally brewed ales, and gins galore. The coffee here is seriously good too, and they open at 11am to serve a great selection of hot drinks from Chester city centre coffee house Jaunty Goat.
Occasions are special here!
Pre-Covid, they threw some great events, and one of their best is the epic annual Bonfire & Firework display. We’re sure they will be back on their event game soon with their amazing tribute nights, hog roast parties (The swine dining menu is insanely good here), and plenty of birthday celebrations.
One event that they truly do best here is a country wedding. They know it’s a huge privilege to be a chosen venue for such a special day. Whether you’re looking for an intimate wedding or grand affair (when allowed of course) – they will create bespoke packages just for you. Everything (and we mean everything) is tailored just for you, so don’t expect a package deal here.
They have some very special neighbours too – Rack & Ruin Alpacas live onsite at The Chester Fields. You can walk and feed these beautiful chaps and enjoy some food or a little tipple in the pub afterwards. This certainly is a family friendly destination.
All in all, this country pub, restaurant and wedding venue is the perfect stop for a great lunch, afternoon snack or dinner. The perfect stop for alfresco dining, drinks with friends and family – including your four-legged friend, and the perfect stop for any occasion in need of a celebration.
